Arakbica

The Urban Twalen

Proposed is an alternative design for Arakbica's original packaging. Arakbica, an Arak and coffee beverage from Indonesia, is crafted locally, using raw materials directly sourced from Arak farmers in Karangasem and coffee farmers in Kintamani, Bangli, Bali. The design incorporates an illustrative approach inspired by the original Twalen logo. The Twalen mascot is depicted in a quirky and bold manner, imparting distinctive characteristics and attitude, reflecting the beverage's bold and rebellious nature. Twalen, originally a member of the Balinese mythological pantheon of gods and demi-gods, transforms into an urban dweller known as Urban Twalen. A tagline, "Spirit of God," has been crafted to symbolize the sacredness of the Arak drink, traditionally utilized for religious purposes in Bali.

The Spirit of God

An additional branding concept and packaging for Arak Toh, a pure Balinese arak by Twalen Spirit. 'Toh' is derived from 'Tohlangkir,' an epithet for Mount Agung in Karangasem, symbolizing glory and the balance of power in life. Arak Toh is a tribute to Balinese culture, crafted from coconut sap through three distillation steps. The packaging features an illustration of Mt. Agung and the iconic Pura Kahyangan Jagat, surrounded by mystical clouds representing the gods.
