Multiverse

The Star Boy, Ripple of Chaos

The Multiverse is an experiential space created for Basha's tenth anniversary in collaboration with Disney. This event reinterprets Disney's iconic characters through various art styles, presenting them more as subtle cameos than direct representations. For this special edition, we designed a unique mascot called StarBoy, a coined name symbolizing the power of a wish, inspired by Disney's storytelling. In this iteration, StarBoy takes the form of a geometric star that traverses different universes. Each time the star falls, it triggers a ripple of chaos, introducing a deeper, darker layer to the narrative as the worlds descend into disorder.

A star fell from the sky.

The mascot represents a fallen star, stuck in the ground but still shining—symbolizing the hopes adults hold for the future. It may seem a bit sad, but the message is clear: even when a wish doesn’t come true, there is beauty in what remains. The star then comes to life in a three-dimensional form, making the mascot feel more real. One version will be used for marketing, while the other will serve as the main mascot and installation at the event.

The Space

The main visual is expressed in various colors to reflect the changing moods and emotions we experience. Blue serves as the central visual, representing a dreamscape within the heart of StarBoy. The experience is filled with intricate, detailed scenes that evoke different feelings. emotions within the same space.

We collaborated with Japanese sound artist Soma Hayato, whose music shapes the atmosphere with uplifting beats. The visuals respond dynamically to the sound, creating a beautiful interplay between slow, melancholic tones and sudden bursts of energy. This connection brings together sadness, happiness, and the full spectrum of complex.

Another colorful approach in the Warping Room creates a sensation for visitors as they move from one universe to another. This results in a unique and surreal transition, evoking the feeling of flying through space.

Beauty in the Chaos

The visual experience extends into a Warping Scene, showcasing the diverse landscapes and planets where StarBoy has fallen across various universes. From pink sands, symbolizing environmental decay with castles buried beneath, to sunken Death Stars on a flooding planet overtaking advanced technological weapons, and a green world where princesses are transformed into glass figures—each scene presents a unique narrative. Despite the dark undertones, there is a captivating beauty in the chaos, offering viewers a visually striking experience that is both haunting and mesmerizing.

Warped!

This room acts as a unique transition space, connecting the entrance to the main exhibition. It features black-and-white grids in continuous, dynamic motion—irregular, unpredictable, and constantly evolving.

The grids are algorithmically programmed to generate endless patterns of shifting lines, creating a feeling of being immersed in infinite, intricate movements. The chaotic energy of the room ensures that no two visitors capture the same image, as the visual experience shifts and transforms in real-time for each person.
